Stronger' video for Amnesty International

The acoustic version of Stronger came into being when Rob Johns sang it to Helen on her birthday back in 2009. It soon became a favourite at open mic sessions and other informal occasions. But it was during a voice camp, Rise Up Singing, in Dartmoor last summer 2011, when Helen heard Rob sing the song again and decided to record his version properly.

It also came to her that this is the 50th anniversary year for Amnesty International, one of Helen's favourite human rights organisations of which she is a member. Perhaps they could collaborate, given the shared concerns and themes of Amnesty and Glorious Chorus's music.... Helen wondered if a video highlighting these themes would enhance the song and bring awareness to Amnesty's causes. So, pressed for time, she enlisted the help of her 15-year old daughter, Lucy. Giving Lucy ideas for a slideshow and access to some royalty-free image banks, Lucy chose the images that were finally used for the Stronger video, and teased out the text from Amnesty's website. She worked out how to use i-movie and created the final product single-handedly.

So...a beautiful and moving video has been created through this collaboration, to illuminate the message in this song, and hopefully increase awareness for Amnesty International. We hope you enjoy it.

Stronger (acoustic version) download is now available on iTunes & Amazon.
All profits go to Amnesty International to celebrate it's 50th Anniversary.
